Sushi's Daily Logs

September 30, 2003
Tuesday

  1. There is a thing that I do. I like to pretend that some nights I can go without my body’s requisite amount of sleep. It’s not true. I woke up at 9:30, logged in, and went back to sleep until about 11:20. Luckily, there were no morning meetings.

  2. At 11:45 I needed to leave for what is the only memorable part of today -- studio class at the college. My performance of Chopin’s “Raindrop” prelude wasn’t the best and wasn’t the worst. I’ll probably write more about this in my journal.

  3. The good news is that I’m finding myself getting VERY excited about music again. I’m not sure I can say why. Perhaps some new insights and hope.

  4. Recording my practices will help -- and sadly suck more time out of my day. But maybe it is this introduction of technology that is exciting.

  5. I did get stuff done for work when I got back. Yea me.

  6. Later it was off to Circuit City because I’m boycotting the terrible service at Circuit City. Picked up two surge protectors. I had only needed one -- for the recording setup by the piano. But the best model appeared to be the cheapest, so I snatched that up.

  7. Home. Dinner. Set up electronics. Piano practice.

  8. I’m going to start a practice journal.

  9. I’m converting my entire music collection to .mp3. Easier access on the computer and I can quit scratching the CDs. I've been doing that throughout the day since it's background work.

  10. Writing this! It’s 12:32 am the next day.
